The phone
A companion app that tells you when a Safe needs you. It holds no keys, and it approves nothing.
What it does
The Tamias phone app watches your Safes and tells you when one needs you: a transaction waiting for your signature, a transaction that would fail, a swap whose price moved. It shows the same Safes, signing progress and history you see on the web, on every Safe in every organization you belong to.
The app is for iPhone and is not in the App Store yet.
What could go wrong without it
A transaction waits in a Safe's queue until enough owners sign it. Nobody is told it is there unless someone remembers to say so. A payment goes out a day late, or a swap sits unsigned until its quote is worthless, because the one signer who was needed was not at a computer.
What you see in the app
Pairing. On the web, open Settings → Devices and press "Pair a phone". A QR code appears. In the phone app, press "Scan QR code" and point the camera at it. The code works once and expires after five minutes; if it runs out, generate a new one. The phone then shows "Paired" with your wallet address, and asks to send notifications. It is signed in as the same wallet as the browser that showed the code.
Notifications. The phone's Settings → Notifications lists what it can tell you about. The first four are on by default, because they need you to do something: "Needs a signature", "Would fail", "Needs manual Execute" and "Swap price moved". You can also turn on signatures added, executions, auto-executions and signer changes, and send yourself a test.
What a notification says. You choose how much, because it shows on your lock screen.
- What and where (the default): the Safe, the chain and the signing progress, such as "2 of 3 signed". Never an amount or a recipient.
- Also the note: adds the proposer's note, or the amount and recipient, and the nonce.
Home shows what is waiting for you across your Safes, including a payment run that needs signing. Activity lists what your Safes proposed and executed.
Help. Settings → Help, or Help under the pairing screen before the phone is paired, reaches a person: write a sentence, press Send, and you get a short code to send on Telegram or by email. The code carries the app and iOS versions, whether notifications are allowed, and the requests that failed recently, never an amount or a recipient; each can be switched off before sending.
Unpairing. In the phone's Settings, "Unpair this phone" stops its notifications and signs it out. From the web, Settings → Devices → Remove signs the phone out remotely: its next request fails, and it says "This phone was unpaired."
What it does not do
The phone approves nothing. It holds no keys, cannot sign, propose or execute a transaction, and cannot move funds. Signing stays on the web, with your wallet.
It cannot create or change anything either: no workflows, schedules, names or members. To add a Safe, import it on the web and it appears on the phone.
Notifications are raised by the app itself. They arrive while it is open, and when it is closed only as often as iOS lets it refresh in the background, which iOS decides. A notification can come late, so treat it as a reminder, not as the only way you will hear that a Safe needs you.
